This event is no longer on sale.
Explore Arkansas’s heritage foodways with this unique dinner series that features local chefs who take inspiration from our past.
The third of our 2019 History is Served dinners looks at food lineage and explores how recipes and dining customs are handed down within families. What ends up on the plate becomes a reflection both of place and of relationships. Like the storybook character Eloise, Capi Peck practically grew up in the Hotel Sam Peck whose menu lives on in a few dishes served at Trio’s. Along with a take on their Farmer’s Market Splendor (a summer vegetable plate that’s been a staple at Trio’s for more than 15 years), Capi will serve up stories — and dishes! — with history and provenance, such as Granny Verna’s tomato relish and Raida Pfeifer’s cucumbers. We’ll include a special call for family cookbooks and recipes to add to our research on Arkansas’s heritage foodways. Cocktails by Rock Town Distillery.
This shared dinner will be an immersive way to learn more about the Arkansas's heritage foodways.
