Celebrate Black History Month at Historic Arkansas Museum as we re-create some historical African American recipes in the Brownlee kitchen.

This hands-on class, led by museum staff, will feature recipes from the culinary legacy of Malinda Russell, author of the oldest known African American cookbook, A Domestic Cook Book, published in 1866. Participants will have the opportunity to bake a few delectable dishes from the cookbook using the methods and techniques of days gone by. We will provide the equipment and ingredients. No Dutch oven experience is required.
